The body donation process

  • Passing of the potential donor is confirmed.
  • LifeQuest is called by caregiver or family member.
  • LifeQuest discusses potential donation with family and acceptability of the donation with the medical staff and family at time of passing.
  • Arrangements are made to transport the donor to LifeQuest's facilities.
  • Tissue is matched with medical researchers and educator's needs.
  • After recoveries, remains are sent to licensed crematory for free cremation.
  • If desired, cremated remains are returned to family in 30-45 days.
  • Certified death certificates are issued and sent to the family by State or County where death occurred.
  • LifeQuest corresponds with the family regarding the donation.
